Today, we will introduce some tips to keep in mind when choosing clothes for children. Young children still have sensitive and fragile skin, so what kind of clothes should you choose?
1. Cotton clothes are recommended.
100% cotton clothes are recommended. Babies sweat a lot because their body temperature is higher than that of adults, so cotton clothes that are highly absorbent and breathable are best.
Tip: One of the great things about cotton clothes is that they can be easily washed on a high temperature to destroy bacteria, unlike some other materials.
2. Clothes that are easy to put on and take off are the best.
At this age, children will make a mess with anything they eat. When you start feeding your child baby food, it is common for their sleeves to become dirty. Clothes that are easy to put on and take off, and clothes that can be freely washed in the washing machine are the best.
Also, wearing clothes that are too tight can make your child uncomfortable. Children may struggle because they don’t like putting on and taking off their clothes, so please consider clothes that can be put on quickly and comfortably.
Tip: Consider clothes with snap buttons underneath for easy diaper changing.
3. Don’t buy too many clothes at once.
When you have a baby, you see a lot of different and exciting clothes options. But keep in mind that babies grow very rapidly. A child born under 3 kg will weigh more than twice as much as after birth in just 100 days.
Their height is also increasing at a tremendous rate. People may also give you clothes that their baby never had a chance to wear when your child is born!
If you buy too many clothes at once, you may have to eventually figure out what to do with clothes left in your closet that have never been worn but already grown out of.
4. Clothing sizes vary slightly from brand to brand.
75, 80, 90, etc…There are lots of children's clothing sizes. However, if you measure the actual size, each brand's clothing size is slightly different. My child wears a 75 in brand A, but she could also wear an 80 in brand B. It is helpful to measure the clothes you have with a tape measure, check the actual size, and then shop online.
5. When shopping, please consider the season and delivery delay.
If you are lucky, you will receive your item within a week or so, but if you are unlucky, you may experience delays in shipping for a long time. So, if you're ordering children's clothes, think about the estimated time of arrival and consider what clothes you can wear during that time.
If you order something in late spring and it arrives in early summer, it will be difficult for your child to get the clothes on.
6. Wash with caution.
To avoid leaving detergent residue when washing, use the rinse function one more time than usual.
7. Be sure to wash new clothes before putting them on.
New clothes still contain a lot of chemical components. Please only let your baby wear them after washing. Otherwise, hives may occur. The same goes for clothes that have been stored for a long time (e.g., when taking out stored summer clothes). Please put them on your child after washing.
8. Hand wraps and foot wraps may vary depending on individual preferences.
Hand wraps and foot wraps can be used for a long time or not used at all, depending on personal preference. Don't buy too many hand wraps and foot wraps at once. It is recommended to purchase one as a sample and then purchase a few more according to your preference.
There are also clothes that can cover a child's hand. Some types of baby underwear have long arms, so they can naturally wrap your child's hands.
Tip: Here are some tips on using baby socks as hand wraps.
